Cancer and Massage- New Page Coming Soon
Massage has been a great compliment to cancer treatments to reduce stress. More doctors are recognizing the benefits of massage therapy not just as relaxing, but also as a necessity in complimentary alternative medicine for the treatment of cancer.
The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) defines Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) as a group of unconventional health and medical systems, practices or products. Complimentary medicine is used in conjunction with another conventional practice and alternative medicine is used in place of conventional practice. Some examples of CAM include: chiropractic, accupuncture, massage therapy and herbal medicine.
Massage Therapy is a great compliment to conventional treatments for cancer. Massage can provide temporary relief from some symptoms caused from cancer and side effects of medications taken to treat cancer. The new page will explain in detail different types of massage that may be indicated for different patient needs. There will also be a resource of links to other pages that may be helpful in finding information about cancer treatments and programs available.
